Originally inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli and by those that worked directly with her, Marc J Acquaviva (formerly known as Marc Woolford) has developed a unique approach to practice that has been inspiring people since 1999 when he started sharing his work.
The Acquaviva School of Yoga has been changing the face of yoga since 2011, when he began running intensive full immersion courses and teacher training programs for dedicated practitioners, teachers and body workers from all traditions.
The approach is capable of transforming people's lives, by redefining relationships to their bodies. Longterm joint issues, spinal problems, even injury and post-surgical issues are often simply released within the practice, and Marc is highly skilled at helping people directly with their diagnosable issues. Those that work with Marc directly for a good length of time also gain this skill.
More recently Marc (and his longest-term student, partner and co-founder of the School, Abigail) have been running free online classes on Facebook (Yoga with Marc group, and Nature & Nurture - Yoga with Abigail).
Marc's weekly broadcast is entitled 'Yoga Solutions', and he offers direct responses to people's questions and requests. The answer is inevitably something to do with finding better/more natural relationships in simple functional actions, and he uses an investigative approach to a few key yoga postures as a framework for exploration of potential solutions.
The online courses give Marc a way of structuring content of his teaching, so that over each course, you will be guided through an experience that re-awakens the whole body - in relationship to itself, to the earth below, the space you occupy and to the very centre of your being, through movement, breath and rhythmic release into centrally supported expansion.
